The NATO Shipping Centre has just posted details of a suspicious approach today by pirates on a merchant vessel.
According to the report, a merchant vessel in position 11.59N-045.07E was approached by three skiffs with two to three persons on board each skiff. Two skiffs approached from the vessel's stern, closing to within 1nm and one from ahead closing to within 2nm. The skiffs did not attack but broke off and moved away from the merchant vessel, which is safe.
