YOKOSUKA, Japan - Sailors from the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Cowpens (CG 63) visited children at the Misono Orphanage in Yokosuka, Japan during a community service project Dec. 17.
“Visiting the orphanage was a heartwarming experience,” said Quartermaster 3rd Class James Viernes. “I am glad that I was able to somehow have the chance to share Christmas with children less fortunate than myself.”The 25 volunteers from Cowpens included Sailors and their family members
