The Financial Times today reports that international shipping companies are bracing themselves for a new season of piracy in the Gulf of Aden, while also expressing concern that there are emerging threats from pirates based on countries other than Somalia.
The paper cites the current political and domestic crisis in Yemen as playing a large part in these concerns. Quoting Michael Frodl, head of C-Level Maritime Risks, the paper suggests that Yemen could become an emerging threat to shipping
