While media outlets busied themselves yesterday with news of the rescue of the MV Montecristo off Somalia by elements of the Royal and US Navy, further information was beginning to come through on the vessel hijacked by bandits off the coast of Nigeria on Saturday 8th October.
Initial reports stated the the vessel was a chemical tanker hijacked whilst drifting at position 04:55N-003:16E, around 90nm South of Lagos at 2040 UTC.
