Nigeria, Benin to engage in joint patrol to check piracy off West African coast
Abuja, Nigeria - Nigeria and the Republic of Benin have formed a joint committee to tackle growing incidents of piracy off the West African coast, amid fears that things could degenerate to the piracy level in Somalia if left unchecked, PANA reported Monday.Nigerian government s told PANA that Nigeria would deploy two warships and one helicopter for the joint patrol of the waters off coast of the two countries, but Benin's contributions are yet unknown.The patrols are expected to start
