Pierre Atlas: Tehran unmoved by rescue

Last week, after the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis left the Persian Gulf, top Iranian officials warned that if any American ships returned, the Iranian military would attack them. The United States offered two responses to this outrageous threat, one official and the other purely unintentional.
