NATO Shipping Centre today lists details of an attack East of the IRTC, approximately 265nm SE of Salalah, Oman, in position 15.02N-058.14E.
According to the report, a merchant vessel came under attack by armed pirates in a white skiff at 0814 UTC. The vessel managed to evade attack (details not given), and is now safe. NATO advises all Masters to exercise extreme caution whilst transiting this area.
