CHRIS Parry, of the Taunton-based UK Hydrographic Office, was awarded the MBE in the New Year’s Honours List for his part in Britain’s anti-piracy mission off Somalia.
A staff officer with the Allied Worldwide Navigation Information System, he leads a team based in Taunton, working with the Royal Navy Reserve to deliver safety and security information to merchant ships and warships in the area.
