Somalia's Galmudug state security forces are to conduct anti-piracy operations in parts of the divided, fragile town of Galkayo, provincial capital of Mudug region.
Abshir Dini Awale, the Interior and Security Affairs minister, told the media that his administration will redouble its efforts and step up operations against Somali pirate safe havens in the region.
The minister noted that most of their operation will be done in Galka'yo and its surroundings under the control of Galmudug
