The IMB's Live Piracy Reporting Centre carries the following report of an attack on a container ship underway at position 12:46.6S-046:18.5E, far further South than most attacks of this type, at around 60nm East of Mayotte Island, Madagascar.
The report states that at 0643 UTC, the crew of the container vessel noticed two skiffs with three to four persons aboard each skiff, at a distance of around 1.5nm. The skiffs increased their speed to around 18 knots and approached the
